Pompous Lady Polymer Clay Sculpture
I hope you enjoy this detailed tutorial on how to sculpt this beautiful lady portrayed by a beloved Egyptian actress called Sohair El Bably, in one of the Egyptian TV’s most remembered series. The sculpture is of a lady belonging to an aristocratic, upperclass family, who after the death of her father, finds herself broke due to debts that he kept from her. While the story may seem sad, it was actually one of the earliest, funniest sitcoms of Egyptian television. I hope you enjoy this tutorial as much as I enjoyed working on this project.

Random Doll
Getting out of my comfort zone I decided to sculpt from scratch a Random Doll and show how the process is. What is a Random Doll? It is a doll that starts in a way and gets changes during the process, with no particular design in mind. Let the clay lead you! It may lead you to a funny face with rare nose and mouth, with big ears and strange eyes, everything is accepted! The idea is to try something you didn't believe you could do. And practice will do the rest! Caricature has not right and wrong, so anything you make is ok! And who knows? You may recognize persons you know, an old aunt or a neighbor! Have fun and try new skills!

Wild Bird Brooch
Follow me step by step as I show you how I create a Wild Bird Brooch. This piece can easily be worn as a decorative brooch pin or a beautiful hat pin! I will provide a photo of a real bird that we will use as inspiration and reference for this wearable sculpture. I will break down my process of multi-step curing, my approach to adding details in between each cure, painting using soft pastels, and embedding the pin back securely. I will discuss why I use certain types of polymer clay, and why I use soft pastels for certain parts over acrylic paints, as well as, why I paint my pieces raw vs post cure. In addition, I will also discuss how I had troubleshooted issues when I first sculpted this piece. This will be an in-depth lesson on my style of sculpting and finishing process. I believe there is no one way to do anything! Having alternative approaches not only allows for flexibility for the creator, but also gives the creator more tools for problem solving a design.
BONUS WORKSHOP
Simple Stamp Making: Initials
In this tutorial, I will show you how I make my simple initial stamp. This simple project is a great method to use to put your name or logo onto your work. I personally use this to stamp my initials into all my work, gifted or sold, to ensure all knows that I have made it. It just elevates your work with a nice professional touch. This is a great little project that can easily be used for other stamping ideas, your imagination is truly your limitations with this. So have fun!

The Little Dreamer
This is a modeling project for the character Pequena Sonhadora, which is part of a series of female characters that started in 2022. The representation of heads has been a recurring theme in my work for years, whether in drawing or using felt. The universe of symbolic narratives such as in movies, illustrations, literature and dreams influence me all the time. It motivates me to work in a studio and be able to experiment with different materials for my creations and also guide students who are interested in the arts. I like the idea that I won't be able to run out of combinations of polymer clay with other materials (artistic or not). I want to continue exploring the different possibilities of polymer clay, both as a modeling clay and as a paint, for example.
In this project we will use polymer clay on an MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) board, creating a mixed media project (polymer clay, acrylic paints and coffee capsules). The piece measures 16 cm in diameter and uses the high relief sculpture technique.
BONUS WORKSHOP
Lunar Necklace
In this bonus workshop we will model a pendant using polymer clay on a metal pendant base. The pendant brings the representation of the moon that we see in the detail of the piece A Pequena Sonhadora. We will explore the application of polymer clay modeled on the metallic base and its fixation, in addition to the use of textures and effects with ballers. We'll use a detail with acrylic paints for a realistic effect and we'll assemble the complete necklace to go out wearing your creation!
